First Ever Ghana Startup Ecosystem Website To Be Launched by Ghana Tech Lab

The First Ever Ghana Startup Ecosystem Website is set to be launched by Ghana Tech Lab, an ecosystem hub in partnership with Mastercard Foundation and 13 partnering tech hubs across the country.

The company embarked on an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Mapping across 11 regional capitals early 2020.

The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Mapping Program forms part of the Pathways to Sustainable Employment (PaSE) Project in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation under the Young Africa Works initiative (YAW) to create 30 million jobs in Africa by 2030.

The Ghana Startup Ecosystem Website (www.ghanaecosystem.com) is an interactive ecosystem platform depicting the visual representation of the results from the data collection methods and has been transformed to influence policy and support discussions in the country.

It is also focused on creating awareness on the state of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in respect to the 11 cities local entrepreneurship ecosystem and their socioeconomic benefits.

The Ecosystem Mapping Team focused on six pillars, namely; Media & Culture, Support & Infrastructure, Markets, Finance, Human Capital, Government, Policy and Regulations.

Overall, 1600 entities across Wa, Bolga, Nalerigu, Tamale, Sunyani, Kumasi, Koforidua, Ho, Cape Coast, Takoradi and Accra were interacted with during the data collection process with the support of 12 tech hub partners.

The dynamic Ghana Startup Ecosystem platform has been established to serve as the go-to place for startups and all relevant stakeholders in the ecosystem value chain in Ghana.

Overall a team of 8, made of researchers and field experts from the company journeyed to the 11 capital cities across the country.

The team interacted and gathered data from key companies and institutions to understand and identify the entrepreneurial ecosystem culture and gaps in the respective cities visited. Stakeholders
