The Ghanaian ecosystem is budding with new players and an influx of entrepreneurs as the population grows and the erratic needs of citizens increases.

With approximately 57% of the population being young and economically active but unemployed, the majority of youth have plunged into entrepreneurship as an alternative means to serve the needs, create job opportunities and reduce poverty.

However, the inadequate requisite skills and lack of business know-how and strategies have become the underlying factor for stagnancy and failure of these startups in their early stage of business growth and development.

These salient problems faced by young startups necessitated the business developers in Ghana Tech Lab to set up a Startup Business Advisory Support (StartupBAS) to provide free structured startup advice and coaching to the Ghanaian pool of startups as and when needed.

The startups will have the opportunity to schedule for consultations to help scale up their businesses on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 1pm to 4pm.

The team from Ghana Tech Lab is also establishing nationwide advisory centres to serve young Startups and businesses at the grassroot level in the respective regions.

The StartupBAS will tackle all aspects of startup operations and business development such as business ideation, business modeling, branding and marketing, managing finances, fundraising (grant, equity and debt), pitch investment strategies, business plan development, corporate governance, safeguarding policies, customer acquisition and retention, business valuation, accounting, growth hacks, company registration and legal advisory.

The business developers and consultants have also deployed a calendly account to help startups book appointments using the link https://calendly.com/startupbas/ghana

Startups or their representatives can also send their questions and challenges to startupbas@ghanatechlab.com for support.

We believe this support structure will help bring value to the entrepreneurial ecosystem value-chain.
