Conversations around startup growth and sustainability are crucial for the collective growth of our local startup ecosystem. Considering the recent growth and increased penetration of funding and ventures springing up in Ghana and Africa at large, Startup Accra is driving conversations with leading ecosystem players on The Hunt for Ghana’s Startup Unicorn.

The “unicorn” status secured by Nigerian payments startup Flutterwave after a US$170 million funding round raised in March can be attributed to the company’s pan-African focus, great team, and excellent execution, according to its chief commercial officer (CCO).

In line with this, this event forms part of Startup Accra's efforts to lead and drive key conversations with hotshot ecosystem players that will create a conducive ecosystem for collaboration, strategic partnerships that will lead to startups’ growth and sustainability and eventually make them a unicorn.

The conversations will touch on key pillars of the ecosystems, exposing the role of ecosystem players in building a more collaborative and conducive ecosystem that will serve as a Fertile farm to grooming the next Unicorns, building and scaling solutions across Africa from Ghana.

The conversation will unearth the current state of the local startup ecosystem, the potential of nurturing the next startup unicorn from Ghana, the role of investors, startups, industry players, and other key players in building a collaborative ecosystem and a fertile farm to raising unicorns from Ghana.

Ecosystem players such as the co-founder of Solar Taxi Jorge Appiah, co-founder of OZE Meghan McCormick, Venture partner of Bamboo Capital Matteo Rizzi, Desmond Koney of Complete Farmer, and Ecosystem Lead of Ghana Tech Lab Daniel Owusu to drive conversations that will lead to the path to raising the next unicorn in Ghana.
