African Startups Can Apply For The Ugandan Green Enterprises Accelerator Program

Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator has announced that African startups can apply for its UGEFA Program. The accelerator program is a four-year European Union (EU)- a funded project supporting green enterprises with access to tailored loans and direct acceleration support.

The program will focus on assisting startups looking to raise between $10,000 to $100,000 in the financing, while also providing successful applicants with targeted support to refine their business and financial plans which support the enterprise’s loan application. Startups will be matched with partner banks to access discounted loans designed to meet their financial needs.

The organizers speaking on the program said that it envisions a sustainable transition to a green economy driven by SMEs working together with financial institutions to build and scale innovative products and services.

“Our approach combines capacity building of post-revenue, scalable green enterprises, and co-creation with financial institutions to facilitate access to tailored missing middle finance”.
