Pan-African online talent marketplace CodeLn has launched Remote CodeLn, an online platform that enables organizations to hire suitably qualified freelancers to take on tech jobs and track their product development tasks throughout the product development process.

The innovative platform helps companies and individuals to post their tech projects, receive bids from freelancers, pick from verified bidders, draft product development contracts, assign/manage product development tasks, and pay freelancers in tranches based on milestones completed.

The platform works by allowing both the company and the freelance programmer set tasks and timelines for each milestone. The details of these tasks and timelines are documented in a contract.

Speaking on the new platform, CodeLn Cofounder and CEO, Elohor Thomas noted that several companies are beginning to adopt the uncommon remote workforce model but this comes with peculiar challenges. Remote CodeLn was, therefore, borne out of the need to help organizations that are struggling to adapt to the new remote recruiting occasioned by the new normal.

“But we soon realized the additional need for a tool to help them manage this process seamlessly that is why we built Remote CodeLn. This platform ensures a smooth process for both the company and the programmer,” she added.

Through the web-based, artificial intelligence platform, a recruiter can post a job specification and immediately get matched with suitable candidates via CodeLn’s recommendation system.

The Remote CodeLn has an escrow feature where payments are held until both parties confirm that the tasks have been completed.

CodeLn CEO, Elohor Thomas is one of 6 Nigerians nominated for the £25,000 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation. Launched by the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2014, the Africa Prize recognizes ambitious African innovators developing scalable engineering solutions to local challenges.
