Ghanaian Technology and broadband infrastructure company CSquared Ghana has been appointed as a reseller partner to Angola Cables to extend wholesale and IT solutions to its customers in Ghana and other parts of the African continent, including Togo, the DRC, Uganda, Kenya, and Liberia.
By investing in broadband infrastructure and making it available to local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), CSquared helps bring high-quality and affordable broadband access to Africa’s major cities, impacting inclusive connectivity for social and economic development. On top of this infrastructure, CSquared layers a cloud offering to provide simplified and tailored access, migration, and consumption of multi-cloud services to businesses and enterprises cost-effectively to drive digital transformation across Africa.
Rui Faria, Global Sales Director at Angola Cables, said that the sales partnership program – AC Partners - is part of a consistent strategy aimed at ensuring greater proximity to the markets and giving service providers and vendors the opportunity to market a range of products and services such as IP Transit, Remote Peering, Global Data Centre Interconnection, Cloud and Gaming solutions, with the reach of connectivity and efficient sourcing that our international network delivers.
“As our most recent partner, CSquared will now benefit from and be able to promote their access to high-quality Internet, and Cloud connectivity solutions in locations within the Angola Cables network reach,“ said Faria. “This will strategically place their business in a position to offer a comprehensive portfolio of widely connected products and solutions.”
According to Estelle Akofio-Sowah, CSquared West Africa Regional Manager, “Our business operates on a shared, open-access broadband infrastructure model, where the company and its partners build and operate technology and networks that can be leveraged to provide better services to end-users. Engaging in a sales partnership was a logical choice for us. We have access to Angola Cables’ robust and secure, high capacity, low-latency international network and the opportunity to market tailored products and customized network solutions.”
According to Faria, Angola Cables now interconnects 59 Data Centers (GDI) and has more than 4500 peering agreements worldwide and more than 20 Points of Presence (PoPs) in Angola, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Portugal, England, Spain, France, Germany, Brazil, Singapore, and the USA.
“Our extensive network - ranked as the most interconnected operator on the African continent, provides partners such as CSquared with secure, scalable, and efficient connectivity,” notes Faria. “This, in turn, enables CSquared and other partners to expand their reach, build their customer base and benefit from a pipeline of advanced, on-demand, internet products and services.”

About CSquared
CSquared started as a project within Google in 2011. The project aimed to build metropolitan fiber-optic networks, which would be leased by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) on a wholesale model, and as a neutral operators of shared infrastructures. The long-term vision for Google was to increase Internet penetration in Sub-Saharan Africa and also to reduce Internet access costs by investing in the required infrastructure. As the Internet is a global lever for development, the lease/partnership of a wholesale last-mile fiber network would ultimately carry many secondary benefits.
In October 2017, to accelerate the scope of the project, Google entered into a joint venture with Mitsui & Co (Japan), Convergence Partners (South Africa), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group). CSquared became an independent company with these four shareholders, putting their expertise and experience to work. Together, they have made available 100 million USD to lead expansion projects in new markets. CSquared is currently present in six (6) countries across Africa - Uganda, Ghana, Liberia & Kenya; and recently commenced deployment in two more countries - DR Congo and Togo.
