
Finalists Announced For AppsAfrica Awards 2020

The final shortlist for the AppsAfrica.com Innovation Awards 2020 which celebrate the best in mobile and tech from across Africa has been announced.
The sixth edition of the awards attracted over 500 submissions from 51 countries, with solutions launched by start-ups, established ventures, and corporates.
The awards strive to showcase leading ventures from across the continent and provide winners with industry recognition, global publicity, and potential investment. AppsAfrica Winners are also invited to join Africa Tech Summit in 2021 connecting with tech leaders, corporates and investors at next years African and European Summits.
Applications for the 12 categories were assessed and judged by an independent panel of industry experts including media, investors, and leaders from the tech ecosystem. Having assessed all the entries, the judges have whittled it down to the following finalists;
Agri & FoodTech Award
AgroData, m-Omulimisa, ComX FieldDev Group, from Nigeria, and AgUnity from Kenya/Ethiopia.
Best African App
ForKeeps, Carry1st, Naked Insurance and Karri Payments from South Africa, Elimu from Tanzania, and ZamaniWeb from Nigeria.
Social Impact
Mastercard Girls4Tech Connect and Setech Ghana; Envisionit Deep AI and Vodacom South Africa, and Natal Cares from Nigeria.
Mobility Award
Sigma Associates Limited and Amitruck from Kenya, Tetranologie Mobility from Namibia, and Plentywaka from Nigeria.
eCommerce Award
HoBeei Freecycling, Pricepally, One Kiosk Africa, from Nigeria, Sokowatch from Kenya, and Vodabucks from South Africa.
EdTech Award
Trend Solar & Ubongo Learning and Mzizi from Kenya/Tanzania, Qataloog from Nigeria, Xhuma in South Africa, and BeBlocky, inc. from Ethiopia.
