Dr Amr Talaat, the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has announced the results of the third and final edition of the African Cup for Innovation of Digital Applications and Games (AAL CUP) 2021, of which Boxconn emerged second.
Boxconn is a Ghanaian startup that connects businesses to reliable delivery partners to provide quick, cheap, and delightful experiences for last-mile delivery.
The startup participated in The African Cup for Innovation of Digital Applications and Games (AAL CUP 2021), organised by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), represented by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), and implemented through the Center for Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Egypt.
IBM partnered with this year’s edition of the competition. On its part, the company will help startup companies and next-generation developer communities access a range of its innovations around data and AI with IBM hybrid cloud strategy.
The AAL Cup was launched to stimulate creativity and entrepreneurship and raise awareness for technology, leading to a robust economy. The competition seeks to promote rapprochement between the African youth under the umbrella and sponsorship of the Egyptian state. Furthermore, this leads to finding innovative solutions to the African continent’s challenges.
The initiative is complemented by other long-term capacity building programs, including the Egyptian-African Training Center for Training in the Field of Communications Regulation and the Regional Postal Training Center.
