
GhanaThink Hosts The 115th Barcamp Accra 2022 For Hundreds of Youths

Barcamp Accra was successfully held over the weekend at the Dining Hall of the Volta Hall, at the University of Ghana. On Saturday, 17th December, over 180 attendees participated in this year’s edition under the theme “ Finance, Personal Development and Innovation". This is the 115th Barcamp to be organised in Ghana. This free networking forum was organised by the GhanaThink Foundation, an organisation based in Ghana and the USA.
The event started with various presentations by key resource personnel who shared what their organisations were doing in contributing to development amongst the youth and in Ghana as a whole.
Participants also had an amazing time in a speed mentoring session aimed at helping them gain insights and answers to their questions. They had the opportunity of connecting with people from different backgrounds who shared their knowledge on topics of interest related to the theme. The mentors at the session were: David Nikoi, Sarfowaa Duncan, Alex Offei Lartey, Isaac Osei, David Kwaku Sakyi, Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, Felix Siaw-Yeboah, Thomas Tagoe, Sarah Apenkroh, Jesse Gyau Kusi, Ohenewaa Brown, Emmanuel Mumuni and Seth Koomson.
The Barcamp ended with breakout sessions led by partners on topical issues focused on developing them personally as well as getting exposure to various tools, services and products useful to them. The sessions were led by: Petra on “Achieve More”, Hubtel on “Opportunities in the eCommerce industry in Ghana”, Digiex on “DigiExt Stakeholder Partnerships for more Ecosystem Wins”, Built Financial Technologies on “Managing business finances”, Mobile Web Ghana on “Digital Skills for the Youth”, HandyTradie on “Employability Skills in the 21st Century”, and Clean Air Fund on “Air Pollution and Health

The organising team, Leonard Hagan (Barcamp Ghana Logistics Lead), Patrick Keli Atitsogbui (Barcamp Ghana Marketing Lead), Enoch Appiah Junior (Barcamp Accra Marketing Lead), and Bright Atsu Agbetsise( Barcamp Accra Logistics Lead) did great in ensuring that this year’s event was successful. They are all GhanaThink members who have volunteered to help organise Barcamps across Ghana since these events started in 2008.
Barcamps in Ghana are planned to contribute to GhanaThink's vision of building a critical mass of patriotic, passionate, positive, proactive, progressive, and productive young Ghanaians. In the spirit of patriotism, Barcamp Accra 2022 ended with the participants singing the Ghanaian National Youth Anthem - "Arise Ghana Youth".
