The Ghana-based chapter of the Google Developer Groups (GDG), an open and non-profit group for IT developers, has held this year’s DevFest Ghana event virtually.

DevFest is an annual community-led developer event hosted by Google Developer Groups, that takes place all around the world and is focused on building a community around Google's technologies.

Thus, GDG Accra & GDG Kumasi, the two main regional chapters in Ghana, organized the event alongside other developer communities and Industry players to experience sessions on Cloud, Machine Learning, Mobile, and Web technologies with the aim of empowering participants to learn, network and run their own successful tech startups.

In his keynote address, Jason Titus, the Vice President (VP) of the Engineering Department at Google, noted that the radical changes that have taken place this year encouraged developers in the GDG community to host a virtual edition of the event.

“When difficult times came about, developers within this community came together online to plan a virtual DevFest where each local chapter participates, helping each other when we need it the most”, he added.
