Two health-tech startups undergoing incubation at the Ghana Tech Lab Pokuase Campus, hosted startups and stakeholders in the Accra North municipality on Saturday. The event was on the theme; ''Leveraging technology to improve healthcare delivery".

The event provided health tech startups the platform to discuss the benefits of health tech, and the need to be cybersecurity conscious in order to keep their apps secure, to bridge the gap between the healthcare industry and technology.

Speaking to Naa Adjekai, a Business Developer, Ghana Tech Lab, she emphasized on the need for accelerators and other investors to support startups who come up with solutions to combat issues in the health sector.

“When startups want to build a health management system or online pharmacies they want to do it on their own due to lack of resources. When they are exposed to more finances, it brings on board a larger network of investors, which really helps,’’ she explained.

According to her, startups setting up their businesses on their own is very difficult while collaborating is important.

She called on investors to support startups with funding to enable startups develop advanced technology which is deemed expensive.

She called on the startups to leverage resources provided pro bono by hubs such as the GTL Pokuase Campus to develop their brands.

She added that the majority of the startups do not have an online presence, indicating that such events will be the ideal platform for them to network and come up with solutions to develop the startup ecosystem.

The event wrapped up with a gaming and networking session among the participants. The event was attended by cybersecurity experts, business development experts, and other tech enthusiasts.
