Ghana Ladies in Tech Summit Awards

There is an obvious gender divide within the tech space with the ratio of men to women being 80:20. In Ghana, several organizations are contributing their quota to see equality in these numbers but, it is still far-fetched. Women are still being overlooked, under-represented in some areas, not given early developmental training, and for some, out of sheer inferiority complex.

Regardless, we cannot overlook the efforts of some women taking over the tech space by storm. We can boast of Ethel Delali Cofie, the founder of Women in Tech Africa and a board of MARAMOJA Transport, Regina Honu the founder of Soronko Academy, amongst others.

To shorten the gender-divide gap and push these ladies to the forefront, Ghana Tech Lab hosted the Ghana Ladies in Tech Summit And Awards. The GLiT Summit and Awards sought to celebrate outstanding female efforts and achievements in the tech ecosystem.

The GLiT Awards 2021 comprised 27 categories; these included 16 awards by nomination, 10 by appointment, and the best innovative idea award. After which, women entrepreneurs and innovators were recognized and rewarded for their excellent works and thriving spirits.
