The West African Mining and Power Expo and Conference had record support this year as global interests increased in West African mining opportunities. After 4 years, WAMPOC/WAMPEX was live at the Accra International Conference Centre from 1-3 June. This year, there is a record turnout as mining and power sectors are keen to get back to business, with over 3000 mining and power stakeholders attending and networking at the event.

This year's theme was Advancing a legacy of sustainable and responsible mining through innovation and partnership, with His Excellency, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, presenting the keynote address and highlighting Ghana as the hub of mining in West Africa.

The three-day conference program dealt with mining investments within West Africa, climate change, energy transition in the mining sector, and sustainable, innovative solutions for the large intensive power users.

As the leading exhibition for the mining and power value chain, WAMPEX attracts thousands of senior mining professionals from both public and private sectors across Africa and globally, making it one of the most important industry meeting places in the mining calendar. The expo had over 90 equipment and solution suppliers with the latest technologies and innovations on display.

In addition to extended networking opportunities, the event hosted a series of interactive technical workshops, providing the latest insights into sustainability, automation, and operational excellence, while suppliers showcased the latest technologies, innovations, and products.

‘With more exhibitors than prior events, the event was a big success with attendees. We will be announcing new, exciting developments that are in discussions for the next edition within the next few weeks,” stated Le-Ann Hare, Portfolio Director of the event.
