Twitter Announces Actor Chadwick Boseman’s Eulogy As The Most Liked Tweet Ever

Twitter announced that a tweet from the account of late actor Chadwick Boseman has set a record by becoming the most liked tweet ever with over 7.3 million likes at the time of the writing.

Apart from that, it also has 3 million retweets with more tributes pouring in from fans, colleagues, and politicians.

“Most liked tweet ever. A tribute fit for a king. #WakandaForever, the announcement read on Saturday.

This has overthrown the previous most-liked tweet by more than three million likes, which was a tweet in 2017 by ex-President Barack Obama.

On the 29th of August at 11 pm, the family of Chadwick tweeted a eulogy along with a black and white picture of the actor and a short statement breaking the news of his death on his official account.

According to the statement, the 43-year-old actor died after battling with stage four colon cancer for four years. The statement, which came as a shock to the world, also said that the actor died in his home with his wife and family by his side.

Chadwick Boseman shot to worldwide fame after starring as T'Challa, King of Wakanda in Marvel’s Black Panther movie. The movie was Marvel’s first production that featured an entirely black cast and a black superhero.

It went on to become the second highest-grossing movie in 2018 in addition to winning awards at the Oscars, Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Academy awards.

Chadwick also starred in other Hollywood movies including Get On Up, Marshall, 21 Bridges and Gods of Egypt.

He also contributed his quota to the fight against police brutality and also supported the Black Lives Matter movement by joining over 300 actors and filmmakers to sign an open letter to Hollywood, calling for an investment in anti-racist content instead of glorifying systemic racism, corruption and police brutality
