Uncap 2022 Cohort Is Giving Founders Access To Funding

Sept. 20, 2022, 1:43 p.m.

Uncap is accepting applications from early-stage founders for its 2022 investment cohort. Uncap provides innovative, automated, and unbiased funding to early-stage founders in sub-Saharan Africa. The program invests ticket sizes of between 10,000 EUR and 50,000 EUR using a remote, data-driven, and mainly automated process.

Uncap’s application process focuses on quantifiably assessing the founder’s ability to grow and scale a great business. Applications are made online through the Uncap portal, where founders complete a series of questions and assessments. There is no need for pitch decks, business plans, lengthy meetings, or investment committees, and no collateral is required.

Uncap also invests through redeemable equity-revenue-based financing ‘RBF’ that is designed to meet the needs of early-stage businesses. This means that Uncap purchases share that the company can redeem at a pre-agreed multiple using a percentage of their monthly revenues.

Founded in 2019, the investment program aims to make early-stage funding accessible to every good founder in sub-Saharan Africa. One of the barriers to equal opportunity in growing a business is access to early-stage funding, which is unfairly distributed and highly biased in regard to gender, education, and location.

Criteria

  • Early-stage founders in Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda
  • At least 10,000 EUR of revenue traction over the last 12 months
  • Scalable business model Well-kept records of business operations
  • Registered limited company
  • Industry agnostic

Applications end on 30th September
